How to shop for gift deals
A gift deal is only a good deal if the person would want the item at any price. Start with the person, not the markdown: what do they use every week, what do they keep meaning to replace, and what would they never buy for themselves? Then look for a discount on that.
Prices and availability on Amazon change through the day, and the price you see on the product page when you add it to your cart is the one that applies. If you are buying for a specific date, check the delivery estimate at checkout and leave a few days of slack, especially in December.
Bundle small gifts by theme, avoid duplicates by asking a family member what is already covered, and keep the order confirmation emails in one place so returns are easy if plans change.
Return windows and conditions vary by item, seller and season, so read the return eligibility on the product page before you buy, and use the gift option at checkout so the package does not show prices. Amazon's Help Center explains the current returns policy and how gift receipts work.
