For basic engine-code checks.
Reads and clears check-engine codes, shows freeze frame and live data, and reports emissions-readiness status on most compatible 1996-and-newer US-market OBD II cars; check your model.1 Plugs into the diagnostic port with no phone or app. It does not do ABS, airbag or oil-service resets.1

All three are for OBD II vehicles, which in the United States means 1996 and newer models.1,2,3 Model year alone does not establish compatibility: the makers describe their coverage as “all” or “most” such vehicles and ask you to confirm your own make and model before buying. Unresolved listing conflict: the MOTOPOWER listing's bullets say the scanner is powered by the vehicle and has a 2.8 in screen, while its specification table lists it as battery powered with a 2.7 in screen.1 We could not resolve this from the sources checked. It does not change which buyer the tool suits.
